An undersea aquarium for your TV, A virtual dive for your senses!

David Cowan, Amoray, Inc.About the Creator

Digital Aquarium is the creative dream of David Cowan. Born February 1954 in upstate New York, David never imagined how the underwater world would change his life. In the pristine waters of the Bahamas in 1991, he discovered scuba diving and the tranquil silence of the wondrous marine environment. From that moment, David knew he had to fashion a career for himself sharing and enjoying his diving experiences.

Cowan's credentials as a diver and underwater photographer / videographer are impressive. David is widely recognized locally and in such distant places as Ireland, England, Austria and Turkey for his underwater still photography and special event underwater videography. In the course of his underwater imaging career David has logged nearly fifteen hundred hours underwater on location in the Bahamas, off the coast of Florida, the Virgin Islands, in the caves of North Florida, the coastal waters of North Carolina and in the Dutch West Indies. His extensive list of certifications and qualifications has made David a successful dive instructor on many levels. Through his business, Florida Dive Training, Inc., he provides scuba diving instruction for everything from entry level Open Water diving to Advanced Nitrox diving on both diver and instructor levels. In fact David teaches twenty-three different courses on both the diver and Instructor levels including technical breathing gas blending, Basic Life Support and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. It was his desire to record and share his underwater experiences that drew Cowan into underwater photography and videography. David began filming and photographing not only his own diving adventures, but also creating custom films for clients that captured their own diving experiences. Quickly, he found himself drawn into the beauty of aquatic life on film.

It was by chance that David showed one of his own edited aquatic videos to a friend. So entranced by the breathtaking beauty of the marine world that David's underwater video brought to vivid life, she asked him to make her a copy with a musical background that she could play on her television. There was something new to discover each time she watched, and the idea of having her own "digital aquarium" in the living room instead of a black TV screen appealed to her.

The idea was catching. Everyone who saw the underwater footage wanted a copy of their own! Now David Cowan has expanded his business ventures in scuba diving to include his Digital Aquarium concept on a large scale. David lives and works in Jupiter, FL where he enjoys immediate access to the warm, beautiful waters of Palm Beach County. Through the revealing lens of his high tech underwater camera, the Florida Atlantic comes to life on screen. Continuously exploring new possibilities and options for Digital Aquarium, David is committed to bringing his concept of relaxing aquatic video into the future with new undersea footage, music, and themes.

Reviews

"I just put your video in to review it before I put it on the system and all I can say is "WOW". It is incredibly beautiful. The color is perfect and I feel like I am looking at an actual aquarium. The music is beautiful as well. Thank you for allowing us to use this video. Our patients will really enjoy them. This is truly incredible work."

"I want to personally thank you for creating the Digital-Aquarium. The video is so spectacular and clear you believe you are on a virtual dive. The continuously changing scenes and the music allow you to view the video a multitude of times seeing more and more creatures and beauty of the reefs off of Palm Beach. We had a dinner party the other night and it was a hit with our friends they want some videos too. The video and the music are very serene and unobtrusive, which creates a perfect atmosphere at anytime with anyone from children to adults of all ages."

"Just a note to tell you that I am enjoying your Digital Aquarium video very much. The photography and colors are absolutely breath taking. The changing scenes certainly maintain interest and repeat viewing always reveals new discoveries. I have a TV set up in my Gift Shoppe for customers and it has proved to be an excellent conversation piece and an effective tool for keeping my customers occupied while waiting to be assisted."

"Watching the Digital-Aquarium has been a most enjoyable experience for me and everyone I show it to has to have one for their home. The clarity and beauty reminds me year round of the diving I love to do. My brother who is recuperating from a stroke gets many hours of pleasure by leaving the DVD on the TV as a screen saver, he listens to the music and watches the action as he feels up to it. I have the Digital-Aquarium playing in our lobby for the enjoyment of the customers while they wait for their checks to be processed. Many ask where they can purchase the video. I am looking forward to the next segment."

"I have the DVD playing in my store. Customers start watching and have to purchase one. Before long they are back with friends who have seen theirs and want one too. One customer said she just leaves it running on her TV and whenever she wants a break, she gets a cup of coffee and watches it to relax."
