
Funny Bone Books are meant to entertain and educate children from ages three to eight years old. The authors highlight each state, through the travels of Alfred, an elephant, and Mr. Monocle. They experience different geographical phenomena, historical landmarks, and witness different cultures. The goal is to show the greatness of this nation through words and illustrations.
Missie McPherson was born in Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from Centenary College for Women in New Jersey. She has taught
Nursery Schools in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Ohio and was a director of three nursery schools in South Bend, Indiana. McPherson
has also served on many boards of different social agencies.
Elizabeth O’Neill was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She studied at
the Cleveland Art Institute, The Chicago Institute of Art, and Illinois University. For 25 years, she has taught art on many educational levels.
O’Neill became a docent at the Cincinnati Art Museum in 1979 and continues to guide others through the Museum. As a practicing
artist she has her own studio and exhibits regularly in many galleries.
