Ultimate Goal of Science

The ultimate goal of science is to understand everything in one conceptual scheme. It is called the “Theory of Everything.” Ideally, everything is explained as a reductive function of a single all-embracing principle.

Contemporary physics sets the stage for realization of that goal. The goal has now been achieved. This book delineates the Structure of Reality and explains how it leads to a clear understanding of the Ultimate Principle. The principle is represented by a compelling equation—one that defies all other possibilities.

The Ultimate Principle must pass certain tests. It should:

Be Non-contradictory and Self-explanatory
Fully Explain the Nature of Space and Time
Unify the Four Forces of Nature
Merge Relativity with Quantum Theory
Explain Life
Simply Explain Everything

Indeed, it passes these tests.

The Ultimate Principle should also answer basic questions. Why is there knowledge? Why do we have minds that can reason? It should help explain not only the meaning to life, but also explain how and why life arose. It should offer a non-reductionistic explanation of biological evolution. It easily handles those questions and more.

Basic problems in physics remain because there has not been a coherent understanding of reality. There is the ubiquitous dilemma. What has not been explicitly defined—cannot be properly tested and verified. And, what has not been verified—cannot be properly defined. The Observer and that observed are understandable only if Consciousness and Experience are unambiguously defined. The Ultimate Principle explicitly defines and explains Consciousness and Experience.

Final Test of the Ultimate Principle is the Big Bang Problem

The Big Bang seems paradoxical. How did it happen? How can it be explained as an expansion of space? Simply:

How does space expand from a singularity?

What is space expanding into—if not itself?

If space is expanding into itself, then there is a difference between expanding space and the space into which it is expanding. A clear understanding of the Ultimate Principle explains the Big Bang and the nature of the singularity. It also defines the difference between space itself and extended spatiality. It also explains why there was a Big Bang. It passes the final test:

It explains cosmogenesis.

The Structure of Reality has been unraveled. When conceptualized the “final” equation defines the Theory of Everything. The derivation of the ultimate principle is explained and along the way so is everything else.
