The 233-page black and white catalogue
raisonné comprises 89 black and white woodcuts and etchings with
accompanying block print designs, silhouette drawings, illustrations and
data regarding his prints. His work spans many subjects from religious,
social and nudes to mythology, geography, literary and abstract. It is
being distributed by the Museum Shop at the Cincinnati Art Museum.

Dr. Allen W. Bernard was born in St. Henry, Ohio in 1944. He
attended Fairfield University, Ball State University, and has his
doctorate in education from the University of Cincinnati. He served
two terms as president of the Cincinnati Graphic Arts Forum of the
Department of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs at the Cincinnati Art
Museum and has collected prints for the past thirty years. He
currently resides in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Kristin L. Spangenberg is Curator of
Prints, Drawings and Photographs at the Cincinnati Art Museum, a position
she has held for over thirty years. She has degrees from the
University of California at Davis and the University of Michigan.
Spangenberg has authored numerous publications in the area of graphic arts
and is a respected scholar and lecturer on European, American, Japanese,
and Cincinnati printmakers. She is a member of the Print Council of
America and the Cincinnati Graphic Arts Forum.
Cecile D. Mear is Conservator of Works
on Paper at the Cincinnati Art Museum. She received her BS degree
from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, and an MA degree and
Certificate of Advanced Training in Art Conservation from the State of
University College at Buffalo, New York specializing in the conservation
of works of art on paper. Her professional memberships include the
American Institute for Conservation and the Institute of Paper
Conservation.
