Excerpt: Chapter 1
I still can't believe my parents ever had sex. I lived in the bedroom next
to theirs for thirty-three years and all I heard was snoring. Perhaps my
conception was an example of the trickle-down theory, such a climactic event
that my mothers egg, traveling merrily along for three days, became trapped
in her fallopian tube. My father's sperm got lost. You know how male sperm
hate to ask for directions. Mama's egg struggled to dislodge itself, causing
everything to heat up. Her egg went from hard-boiled, to soft-boiled to
poached, and finally scrambled down to meet Mr. Right (Sperm). Thousands of
spermatazoa vie for the future me. This was the last time I can remember
being popular.
