My Medical Assistant

  • Have you ever found yourself faced with an emergency and all the facts stored in your head are simply gone?
  • Do you remember when you had your last tetanus shot?
  • Does your face register a blank expression when you are given a new patient questionnaire?
  • Is your family well informed about your medical information in case you are the patient?

My Medical Assistant, created by Donna McCaslin, is an organizer to record concise personal information about medications, hospitalizations and other information needed by healthcare providers.

Start your record at birth or with the earliest information you recall. Then faithfully keep it up-to-date. Take My Medical Assistant with you to each medical appointment. It has been designed to be thorough, yet small enough to pack in a suitcase, diaper-bag, over-sized purse, or carry in your car.

By spending a few minutes after each medical appointment to record the important facts, you will always have a very complete medical record at your fingertips.

Biography

Donna B. McCaslin"Necessity is the mother of invention.”

That is how Donna B. McCaslin came about creating My Medical Assistant, an organizer for personal medical Information.

As a traveler she carried her medication list with her. However, she realized she needed more facts and an organized way to keep the frequently requested information. When she was unable to find anything on the market to meet her needs, she set out to design an organizer that would be flexible and allow her to manage all her medical information.

Her background consists of 30 years of secretarial experience including eight years in a hospital working both in patient treatment areas and administration. When designing the organizer, Donna applied her strong organizational skills for which she had received special recognition on numerous occasions.

However, the resource that she drew on most was her personal experience. At some point in time she had to provide information to medical personal in all the areas addressed in the book. Several medical professional including doctors, chiropractors, dentists, nurses, EMTs and other patients provided input and support to the development of My Medical Assistant.

Donna and her husband Leon, a retired teacher, are the parents of two daughters, have two grandchildren and a special poodle, Smokey. They live in central Pennsylvania but they are snowbirds and spend the winter months in Florida. She is active in her church and community where she has introduced many programs and activities. Donna enjoys traveling, genealogy, cross stitching, and especially her grandchildren.
