“These categories cover everything from DISHONEST CAR DEALERSHIPS to BOGUS CREDIT REPAIR ORGANIZATIONS to UNSCRUPULOUS DEBT COLLECTORS to IDENTITY THEFT. We're looking for responses like, 'My son or daughter went to college only to rack-up $50,000 in credit card debt, says Renee D. Crenshaw and Anthony B. Miles, co-authors of the smash hit book Everything You Wanted To Know About Credit But Were Too Ashamed To Ask and creators of the contest. Most if not all horror stories can be avoided if consumers understood how the credit system worked and knew what their rights were. Rising Star Foundations America’s Worst Credit Horror Story Contest offers just a bit of fun to an otherwise sensitive topic." All winning responses will be published in Renee D. Crenshaw and Anthony B. Miles new resource guide entitled Credit Horror Stories: And How-To Prevent from Becoming the Next Victim, where all children and adults will be able to learn from these stories.
RULES: This contest is open only to legal U.S. residents ages 18 or older. No purchase necessary. To be eligible, all mailed entries must be postmarked by February 21, 2005 and received by February 28, 2005. One entry only per person. The essay must be an unpublished original work of the entrant only, contain no vulgar or obscene language, be suitable for publication, and not have been submitted in any other competition. You can enter by writing your name, complete address and telephone number on a 3”x5” card, and mailing it along with your response of no more than 500 words as described above to:

JUDGING: Judging will be based solely on the opinions of Renee D. Crenshaw and Anthony B. Miles, co-authors of Everything You Wanted To Know About Credit But Were Too Ashamed To Ask. Winners will be notified by phone or mail on or about March 14, 2005.
