About the Author

Cathy Jo Smith has been a professional storyteller since August, 2000 when she made her first appearance at the Dublin (Ohio) Irish Festival. During her story, a set blew over on her - an unplanned event that certainly captured the audience's attention!

She is active in the Storytellers of Central Ohio, the Ohio Order for the Preservation of Storytelling and the Irish-language Gaelic League. And yes, she returns each year to volunteer on the Cultural Committee for the Dublin Irish Festival. She also volunteers at the local elementary school library.

Cathy Jo writes many of her stories, drawing on Irish, European, Irish-American and Appalachian folktales.
