Summary

Susan Hancock, an extraordinary story teller, has written a hallmark fable of wonder and delight.  The captivating tale has been brought to life by former Disney/Dream Works artist, Robert Simmons.  Children and adults alike will find The Wind and Little Cloud entertaining and humorous, while learning critical truths on several levels.

Children will easily identify the value of friendship.  Along with Little Cloud, they will learn to see and appreciate the strengths of others, the service that is continually given in their behalf, and the joy that comes with recognition of worth.

Adults will find themselves in these pages.  At times we may think our accomplishments are our own, or that happiness is found in obtaining our desires.  We may even feel that personal peace is located upon a distant summit.  The Wind and Little Cloud is a refreshing reminder that relationships matter, that we are constantly upheld, strengthened, and protected by others, that there is beauty in routine, and that happiness is found in sundry acts of daily giving.  This book is a great way to tell another person how much you need them.  The Wind and Little Cloud celebrates the tender joy of belonging, of inner-dependence, of supporting one another in building a better world.

About the Author

“Stories are important. They teach us quietly about ourselves,” says Susan Hancock, author of The Wind and Little Cloud. Though literature touches every part of her life, nothing matters more to her than home and family. In earlier years she worked as a critical care registered nurse until devoting herself fulltime as a wife and mother. An avid reader, she raised her children with the classics.

As a proponent of child safety and character education, she has dedicated her life to the cause of children. For over thirty years she has taught both publicly and privately in elementary and secondary education. Currently, she is a volunteer teacher in her local college Institute of Religion. As a lecturer and motivational speaker, she has taught hundreds of church and civic groups. Hancock has worked in the research and editing of both fiction and historical literary works. She is a published poet. The Wind and Little Cloud is her first children’s book.

She is married to Larry Hancock. They have 5 children and 3 grandchildren.
