Summary
'Still Holding My Own' is one of the most highly
anticipated and sought after books across the country. The story is
about a young black man (Tim Hampton) going to work in the State Prison
as a Guard at the tender age of 19. Tim faced many challenges and
participated in the inhumane treatment of inmates early on in his
career, causing him to become one of the administrations favorites.
After a few months and almost losing his life in a huge riot, Tim had a
change of heart and no longer participated in the corruption and that's
when administration turned on him. 'Still Holding My Own' details
incidents from riots to sex scandals that occur behind prison walls.
About the Author
Tim Hampton 31, worked 10 years in the
Texas Prison system and 11 months in the Florida Prison system. Tim was
born and raised in Port Arthur Texas where he attended Abraham Lincoln
High School and went on to study Psychology and Criminal Justice at
Lamar University. Today Tim Hampton travels across the country speaking
about his experiences as a former Prison Guard. Mr. Hampton has made
his home sunny Tampa Florida.
