About the Author
Darryl Hickman acted in almost 100 movies before he was twenty-one, was the lead in his own dramatic series on NBC, wrote half-hour and hour shows for episodic television, and starred in a Pulitzer Prize-winning musical on Broadway. On the other side of the desk, he was Director of Daytime Programs at CBS/NY where he supervised the writers and producers of the four in-house produced soap operas, produced an Emmy-nominated ninety-minute special for CBS, taught soap opera (serial) writing at the New School in New York, and wrote/produced sitcoms for Norman Lear’s Tandem/T.A.T. company in Los Angeles. As a renowned teacher in his own workshops in New York and Los Angeles, he has developed a ground-breaking Process for teaching dramatic art. Mr. Hickman is a summa cum laude graduate of Loyola University (Los Angeles) with a B.S. in English.
