Summary
Iraq Decoded provides a unique summary and analysis of the war and events in Iraq by combining western sentiments and views with a description of Middle Eastern politics and the triggers affecting events there.
This book presents local Iraqi events in a way that Americans can relate to them. It offers a varied recounting and analysis from the perspective of a multifaceted, multicultural person and will offer most readers new information, even if they are natives to or experts in the region.
Iraq Decoded is a reflection of the views of this self-proclaimed Westerner, one who has observed and witnessed first-hand many of the critical events in the Middle East over the past few decades.
About the Author
The author, Dr. Jabbar Fazeli, is an American and a native of the Middle East; a Shiite Iranian from Iran’s Arab minority community. This little known community of Arab Iranians are estimated at 3-5 million and inhabit the province of Khuzestan, bordering Iraq, and have significant ethnic and cultural links to Iraq. Dr. Fazeli has also lived in Kuwait, a Sunni country and a melting pot of Middle Eastern migrant workers. His complex local exposure and experience is further enhanced by a decade of living in Europe and over 12 years of being on US soil, immersed in the American culture. His approach to the material allows readers to understand the various political and cultural elements that comprise the driving forces behind the apparent chaos in Iraq.
