Summary
When it comes to driving the Road to Hana on Maui, it\'s the journey, not the destination, that is the main attraction. Let “Hana Highway Mile by Mile: The Road to Hana & Beyond” guide you along the 52 miles of undeveloped road, 56 one-lane bridges and 617 curves. You will pass by the most breath-taking scenery on the face of the earth. It was literally a million years in the making. And the journey doesn’t end in Hana, it continues well beyond the sleepy coastal town at the bay. There are few words that can describe the beauty of this drive with its cliffs cloaked in green and lush valleys bursting with waterfalls. Curves hug the coast and gaze over an ocean that stretches uninterrupted all the way to the Alaskan coastline. Couple that with black, red, and white sand beaches, a multitude of trails, and beautiful gardens and you’ve discovered the highway to heaven itself. Thoroughly researched, written and photographed by the authors, “Hana Highway Mile by Mile” will guide you on this adventure of a lifetime. Each stop is rated on a scale of one to five so you can easily know which places to see and which to skip. The full color photographs are the best way to capture the beauty the Hana Highway has to offer. Care has been taken to ensure that each map provides as much detail as possible right down to mile markers, landmarks and points of interest. Mile markers are the easiest way to navigate this journey and “Hana Highway Mile by Mile” delivers the most accurate estimates available.
