“Marilyn Horowitz’s How to Write a Screenplay—the High-School Edition is essential for implementing an effective scriptwriting course at the secondary level. The Horowitz method consolidates lengthy approaches by other writing instructors and provides students with a clear, systematic, and motivating system for learning the essentials of quality screenwriting.”

“Whether you’re new to screenwriting or have a dozen scripts behind you, Marilyn’s method is an inspiration. When I feel trapped in the dark cave of a first draft, Marilyn’s book is the candle that leads me out.”
- Adam Nadler, writer and director, The Magic Violin and Shoot George

“Marilyn’s classes always leave me feeling renewed and inspired. She guides each writer toward the discovery of what they truly want to say in their work, and then helps them find the creativity, courage, and skill to say it in the way that will have the most impact. There’s nothing more I would want from a teacher.”
