About the Author

David T. Kollat received a Doctor of Business Administration from Indiana University and spent the first seven years of his career as Professor of Marketing at The Ohio State University. He left OSU to become Executive Vice President and Director of Research at Management Horizons where he directed the firm’s research activities, founded the Retail Intelligence System and consulted with dozens of companies in business and marketing strategy. Dr. Kollat then moved to what is now Limited Brands where he was a member of the Board of Directors and an Executive Vice President with various responsibilities over the years including strategic planning, marketing, human resources, and President of Victoria’s Secret Catalogue. He has co-authored six books in the fields of consumer behavior and marketing strategy, and currently serves on seven boards of directors including: Limited Brands, Big Lots, Select Comfort, and Wolverine World Wide. In 2007 he was selected as one of the 10 outstanding directors in corporate America by the Outstanding Directors Exchange.
