Summary

Before he was a god, he was a man. Amenra, mystical shaman of the deserts, banished forever from his Egyptian homeland. But when an evil conspiracy rises, a plot to assassinate the Pharaoh's only daughter, the brash but powerful ruler of Egypt must swallow his pride and call upon the one man who can save his daughter's life, the mighty Amenra. Amenra of the Sands: The Pharaoh's Daughter takes place during the 3rd Dynasty of the Old Kingdom, when Egypt was the most powerful nation in the world. Based heavily on historical fact, Amenra of the Sands follows Pharaoh Netjerikhet Djoser ("Zoser") and his predecessors as they expand the borders of Egypt, pushing South into the kingdom of Kush and West towards Libya. This story takes place approximately in the year 2622 BC, less than 400 years after the two regions of Egypt, Upper and Lower Egypt, were united. Even 400 years after the union, there remains a great deal of regional pride among the inhabitants of Lower and Upper Egypt, and it is into this atmosphere that some level of dissention and at times, rebellion are able to occur. A dark conspiracy takes shape against both the Pharaoh and his daughter, fueled by an ancient prophecy. It is into the midst of this strife that the mystic Amenra finds himself plunged, forcing him to reopen old wounds between himself and the Pharaoh. Through mystical dreams and visions, Amenra attempts to piece together the mystery surrounding the conspiracy, but can he find the answers before it is too late? Amenra of the Sands embodies the best elements of epic historical fiction, presenting a suspenseful and engaging story of family, betrayal, power and lust in a fresh and realistic depiction of the ancient world.

About the Author

Dozier attended North Carolina State University, majoring in engineering and completing extensive coursework in physics. Astrophysics remains one of his passions. In college Dozier began to experiment with writing, taking several writing courses and creating several short stories. Upon graduation, Dozier attended the University of South Carolina where he attained his MBA. It was during his undergraduate experience that Dozier's first story Amenra of the Sands began to take shape, though it would be a few more years before the story was completed. Inspiration for Dozier’s latest novel, The Order of the Midnight Rose, came to him from a variety of sources, including an interest in the origins of Middle Eastern conflict as they pertain to religion. The son of a Presbyterian minister and a mathematics teacher, much of Dozier’s childhood was spent in the church, fueling his later study of religions and the historical backgrounds that govern them.
