Summary

A horrific accident, a dead man, and an extraordinary red truck set the stage in this thrilling ride of a lifetime. When body shop owner, Carl Lee, is handed a mysterious envelope containing the gold key, his life and those around him are forever changed. "Hide them," the dying man warned. Instead, Carl restores the battered truck and gives it as a birthday present to his seventy-five-year-old grandfather, Thaddeus A. James. When Thaddeus is reunited with a childhood friend, he begins to uncover the secrets of the key and the truck he named Rita . . . and the ride begins. Along the way, Thaddeus opens doors to the past which can ultimately lead him to his final destination. Will he make it in time, or will the dreadful creatures of the past, suddenly allowed to roam free, finally track him down? With so many out to stop him, Thaddeus's greatest threat may come from a man dressed in gray and a sinister truck called the "Black Max". The chase is on to recapture the past as only the ride can deliver!
