Summary
Over the years, many individuals have worked with the Bible and have produced various translations and paraphrases in different languages. These translations have emerged in different times, to different audiences, but the underlying drive and inspiration has been the same. In the words of William Tyndale, the man credited for the first printed translation of the Bible into English, “If God spares my life, I will cause the boy that drives the plow in England to know more of the Scriptures than the Pope himself!” The enduring motivation and indomitable drive has been, “to get the word into the hands of the people in the language they can relate to, a language they would understand and read.” The impulse to produce an alternative presentation of the Bible to individuals with the hope that they will read the Word of God presented in this manner and be introduced to the never changing God of the Word, is the impulse of the People’s Proverbs Worship and Devotional Study Bible.
The People’s Proverbs Worship And Devotional Study Bible is not another translation of the Bible but a paraphrase directed towards those who hardly reads the Bible, however, this presentation will also have a great appeal to devoted Bible Students, and worshippers, because of its special focus. About the Author
Milton Maye, author, financial consultant, songwrighter and poet, was born in western Jamaica in 1971 where he attended Rusea's High School in Hanover, he then went on to complete his certified professional accounting degree with the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants in the UK. Maye attended Carribbean Christ For the Nations Bible School in in Reading St. James in 1996 and later returned as a member of staff in the year 1999. He has subsequently completed other courses in Biblical Studies and currently holds a Doctor of Ministry degree and a Doctor of Philosophy, Religious Studies degree from Friends International Christian University. Milton Maye has been the finance consultant for a number of corporations; he also serves on the Board of a number of Christian Non Profit Organizations in various capacities, the most common of which is Treasurer, he also assumes the position of finance consultant for a number of others. He has also serves the local church in a number of capacities. Milton Maye is the Chairman of Creative Ministry Resources International, a charitable organization formed to produce and promote the work of Dr. Milton Maye and to express his heart for charitable causes.
