Review
"Beautifully written, this novel will be enjoyed not only by historians, but by anyone who wants a change from routine historical fiction, and indeed those who prefer modern settings for their entertainment. Joan Szechtman is an exciting new talent, and I suspect she will soon have an army of admirers clamouring for the next book in the series."
— Brian Wainwright, author of Within the Fetterlock
Summary
"This Time" is a novel about Richard III in the twenty-first century. "This Time" rediscovers the fifteenth Century Richard III through the travails he must endure as he attempts to unravel the mysteries of this century. Not only must Richard III acclimate himself to this whole new world - to sometimes comic effect - he must try to undo the damage done to his reputation through 500 years of history.
About the Author
Joan Szechtman came to writing and history by a rather circuitous route; first focusing on her career in engineering and computer science. But then she discovered the real Richard III, and researched primary and secondary sources on this fifteenth century monarch and his era. The author lives in Connecticut.
