About the Author
Dorris S. Woods is a mental health therapist, researcher, and writer. Her focus has been adolescents and adolescent family relationships for more than two decades. Dr. Woods is a retired educator in mental health and clinical training for nursing students at California State University, Long Beach in the School of Health and Human Services. She served as Administrative Supervisor at Kaiser Permanente Mental Health Center in Los Angeles and has conducted workshops on suicide prevention. She has also written many articles and suicide prevention manual. Dr. Woods received her Ph.D. from Claremont Graduate University in education. She completed her post-doctoral study at U.C.L.A. Dr Woods lives in Culver City, California with her dog, Cookie.
