He's a past President of Los Medicos Voladores or "Flying Doctors", and regularly flew volunteer medical teams to Mexico in his Cessna T210. Max was licensed to fly as a teenager. He earned degrees in Psychology and Electrical Engineering from Swarthmore College and an MBA from NYU. He worked for 25 years in sales, marketing and management positions for Hewlett-Packard and now devotes full time to teaching flying, speaking, and publishing aviation training materials.

About the Presenter

Torea Rodriguez is also a presenter in this course. She has worked in several Silicon Valley based businesses including @Home Network and eBay, Inc. During that time she fell in love with aviation and has been working diligently to make it her next career. Still working at eBay, Torea devotes her non-working hours to teaching flying and getting in the air as much as she can, especially if it’s a seaplane.

Torea holds a degree in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from UC Santa Cruz in California. She holds a Commercial Pilot certificate as well as a Flight Instructor certificate, both with Single-Engine, Multi-Engine and Instrument Privileges. Teaching out of the San Francisco Bay area, she specializes in conventional gear aircraft, as well as the more modern Technologically Advanced Aircraft.
