Summary
This eBook is a more complete and organized body of work defining the main principles of Enlightened Conservatism and includes many of the reports and summaries of efforts of groups, committees, and commissions to address key issues over a number of years. As such they are helpful in more detailed thought for individual portions of the sections of the website (www.thelanguageofconscience.com). For example, in economics the work of the study group founding the Texas Economic Development Commission might be helpful. For education, the information on the efforts and approach of Texans for Quality Education and for the Arts, the sections on the Texas Commission on the Arts and the section on the Texas Cultural Trust should also prove useful. They are presented as a reference more than as a large compiled book. By searching indexes both on the website and the individual books, specific areas of interest can be located. Catalytic efforts, such as the Texas Lyceum, are found in several areas because it represents a process. The books range from the mid 1980s to 2006 and should be read in relation to the time of publication. While many concepts remain the same, some concepts-particularly values, technology, and global competition-have changed facts on occasions. And when facts change as they do with a trend then that changes the dynamics significantly and options should be revisited.
