About the Author
Fred A Stutman, M.D. has done extensive research in the fields of exercise physiology, diet, and nutrition at the U.S. Navel Air Development Center and in his private medical practice. As a medical officer in the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Stutman established one of the first walking programs for cardiac rehabilitation patients. Following the publication of The Doctor's Walking Book, he became known as Dr. Walk. Dr. Stutman is the author of 10 books on diet, nutrition, and exercise. His books have been featured in major publications nationwide, and he has also appeared on national radio and t.v., including The Today Show and Good Morning America. Dr. Stutman is currently practicing family medicine in Philadelphia as a part of the Temple University health system. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice and a recipient of the American Medical Association's Physician's Recognition Award. He is also a member of The American College of Sports Medicine.
