The Importance of Prophecy

Using Bibles that were published after the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, and after numerous archaeological discoveries had been made. The author came to the conclusion that it was virtually impossible to understand the Bible, (The Word and Promises of GOD), without first studying the prophecies, and tracking the time of the happening! The Scripture, "Behold I come quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of prophecy in this Book (THE BIBLE) is very important". Studying prophecy sheds much light and understanding as relates to the Word and Promises of GOD, especially as relates to the time that the history happened! This manuscript is written by following the years of the happenings as nearly as possible. As you will learn, much prophecy was written as many as a thousand years before the prophecy was fulfilled.

Many times GOD through His servants the prophets made things happen that had been foretold, much before the time the event happened. Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Judah, Samuel, and King David were chosen in a special way to be servants of GOD! Among the first ancient prophets chosen were Samuel, Nathan, Obadiah, Elijah, Elisha, and King David. Then in a vision concerning Judah and Jerusalem, the prophet Isaiah was chosen to be a servant of GOD. This during the reign of Uzziah, Jothem, Ahaz, and Hezekiah kings of Judah. Then the Word of GOD came to Jeremiah in the thirteenth year of the reign of Josiah, some of Amon king of Judah, (This during the time the people of Jerusalem were in exile.) Words of GOD came to Jeremiah saying, "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born I set you apart, I appointed you as a prophet to the nations". Further GOD said to Jeremiah, "I will be with you and put in your mouth the words I want you to say". (Almighty GOD has the Power to do anything that He wants, at any time He wants it done).

While Ezekiel was with the exiles from Jerusalem by the Kebar River, the heavens opened and Ezekiel saw visions of GOD. The prophet Daniel also trained in Babylon, where in the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. A Jerusalem and many articles from the temple of GOD, everything that GOD wanted taken was delivered to Babylon. But GOD protected Daniel, Hananiah, Miscael, and Azariah, these four from Jerusalem were chosen to serve GOD in many ways.

As has been learned, the prophet Isaiah prophesied about the coming of Jesus Christ, this several hundred years before Jesus Christ was born. (Note) The Lord Himself will give you a sign, the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call Him Immanuel. (Isiah7:14) (Luke 2:11) For to us a child is born, to us a child is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty GOD, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, and there will be one end to the end of His government or of peace. He will reign on David's throne and over hIs kingdom establishing it with justice and righteousness from this time on and forever. The zeal of the Almighty GOD will accomplish this. (Isaiah 9:6-7) (Matthew 28:18) (Hebrew 1:8) (1 Corinthians 15:27-28) Jesus Christ did not come to abolish the Law of the Prophets, He came to fulfill them. In (Matthew 5:17) Jesus Christ says, "Do you think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets, I have come to fulfill them".
