"Parallel Worlds" shows in unedited images these two countries, the USA and
Peru, that belong the same American Continent, both of them were conquests,
but have totally followed opposite ways along history.
Parallel and different worlds, two cultures whose destinies have been traced
for their people. While one has the best moments in present and future
times, the other one has buried them in the past. While U.S.A. shows power,
riches and nice modern cities to the world, Peru contributes with a rich
millenary culture, fine sceneries and natural landscapes. While one shows
technological treasures, the other one shows cultural treasures and ancient
traditions. While one respires development, progress and comfort, the other
one respires backwardness and poverty.
In all photographs there is something in common, an image that identifies a
country, and an intention to transport people to another reality, the world
of architecture. There is a parallel between images of both countries, an
image in U.S.A. has a different solution in Peru. I try to give different
answers to a specific subject, since my own perspective, main theme is
Architecture. I try to rescue beauty within chaos and monotony of a city. I
try to show what I find different and unique; the country essence that has
been created to transmit beauty, creativity and life. I show what amazes me
and calls my attention in the worlds I am discovering on my trips to share
it with people. Images have been taken since 1992 until 2003, they have been
classified according to specific themes, they are: Facades, Shapes &
Textures, Architecture, People, Urban Furniture, Architectural Details,
Winter Images, Lamp-Posts & Architecture, Flora, Architecture & Landscape.
They have been organized to show differences of both countries and the
parallel worlds.
